Meads Runners will host the 'Festive Fun Run'. It will be a 5km race, with ALL proceeds going to 'The Ben McNicol Trust'. Saturday 22nd November 2014 - 9:30 start.
Ben McNicol was born on 17th September 2005 in London. He was diagnosed with a brain tumour on December 23rd 2011. He underwent surgery at King’s College Hospital which was successful. He subsequently had 6 weeks of radiotherapy at the Royal Marsden Hospital before commencing chemotherapy. Despite a good initial prognosis Ben’s tumour returned and he tragically died on May 26th 2012.
We want runners of all standards to take part in this. Come on good people, let's gather together and share the wonderful, positive spirit of a race, to raise a really good sum of money in memory of Ben.
Tell your Facebook friends about it, or join us on Facebook!
The course is pancake flat, a fast route, so if you're starting out in your running career its a gentle introduction to racing. If on the other hand, you are a seasoned runner, this is PB territory.
