The Running Club                        07445-440440

Meads Runners is Eastbourne's largest 'England Athletics' affiliated running club often attracting up to 30 runners in a typical session. Our members range in age from 19 to 70. The ability of our runners is extremely diverse, some are very experienced and accomplished, others are just starting out and will combine running with walking initially. There will always be someone quicker and someone slower but we all encourage each other along. We even have a pregnant lady amongst our numbers!! We are a sociable club and always welcome new members. Our sessions will improve your running, you'll get a brilliant workout and you will have fun along the way.

When?
We meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm.  The sessions last for 1 hour.  In addition, Meads Runners often meet for informal runs on Sundays and these can be arranged via our facebook page.  There are two sessions aimed at complete beginners and these are on Wednesday at 6:30pm and Thursday 9:30am.  The beginners session is a half hour session, combining walking, jogging and running.

The location varies, but one thing is certain, you will be inspired by the setting.  We are so privileged with the perfect running environment that Eastbourne has to offer. Whether it's a straight flat run along the promenade, loops around the Western lawns or a downland hill [or several!] at Whitbread Hollow you will go home, warm hearted and proud from your evenings achievements.

Where?

What?
The club sessions are for one hour but we don't actually run for that length of time.  We do a thorough warm up followed by an interval session; these are short sharp bursts, improving fitness and technique.  The distances covered vary and we run in small loops so nobody gets left behind and we all finish at the same time.  To round off we have a stretch and cool down.
